Biography

Conga player/vocalist Tor Dietrichson started the Salsa and Latin Jazz group Mambo Cadillac on April 15th, 2005, at the urging of two of his closest friends – ultra dynamic Costa Rican vocalist Carlos Cascante and virtuoso Mexican pianist Julio Jauregui. Rounding out the band is top tier electric bassist Dean Schmidt and various of Seattle’s best Latin drummers, timbales players and percussionists and at times various horn players and often also the great and renowned Cuban guitarist Enrique “Kiki” Valera. The band has also had other singers involved with the band at times too.

The band plays ultra high octane Afro Cuban influenced Latin Jazz and Salsa music of the highest caliber and has thrilled audiences and dancers alike with hundreds and hundreds of concerts at many venues around the Northwest. These are the top level of the Seattle Latin scene and some are world renown. Carlos Cascante has gone on to also play with the world famous Spanish Harlem garnering three Grammy Awards. The music styles played include Mambo, Cha Cha Cha, Bolero, Rumba Guaguanco, Timba and other Latin and Cuban styles. Be prepared to get super excited by this band!!
