Hang live from iTA Studios with master saxophonist and 3x Grammy winner Jeff Coffin (Dave Matthews Band/Bela Fleck & the Flecktones/the Mu’tet) and get a behind-the-scenes look at his music creation process. Hear new music, ask questions, and help Jeff raise money to support Nashville musicians involved with the iTA Studio Streams series.
“I’ll be working on an Afrobeat tune that includes drummer Chester Thompson (Genesis/Weather Report/Frank Zappa/George Duke etc), bassist Alana Rocklin (STS9), and very likely my Brasilian compadre and fellow woodwinds player, Carlos Malta! I’ll show you how the tune is constructed, how I record, what music ‘looks’ like, talk about my compositional process, and I’ll take a few questions. It will just be me and all of you!! Peace, JC”
Musicians in Nashville are facing widespread cancellation of gigs, lessons, tours, and recording sessions as a result of both coronavirus and devastating tornadoes that struck the city just a few weeks ago. Some have lost their homes and instruments and are faced with the challenge of supporting their families in a time where earning money as a musician is almost impossible.
We believe that doing something is better than doing nothing and have started a live streaming concert series called iTA Studio Streams to help some of these incredible musicians. iTA Studio Streams will feature some of Nashville’s local musical heroes playing live and taking a few questions for an online-only audience. 100% of contributions will go to directly to musicians in need of support. Jeff will be receiving NO money for this.
