Low Hums hail from Seattle Wa, but could have easily been born in the mid 60’s in a Laurel Canyon garage. Their influences draw from 60’s psychedelia, garage bands, acid rock, German Cosmic Music, and AM pop. Danceable, fun and not too serious.
Low Hums has been playing for 10 years now. Jonas Haskins originally from Friday Harbor met guitarist Miles Panto in a Georgetown rehearsal space many many moons ago and they picked up drummer Mike Bayer a few less many moons ago. Bassist and keyboardist John and Lee are related and were picked up only recently from Alki Beach to replace former members who retired from music to concentrate on a pet sitting business.
Low Hums like parties and festivals and have toured the west coast and south west seven times, with stops at SXSW, Treefort Music Festival (Boise) , Folklife, Off Beat Music Festival ( Reno), NW Psych Fest, Fisherman’s Village Music Festival, Hempfest, Islands Music Fest. We’ve played communes in the deep woods, and far out psychedelic campouts among the boulders in Joshua Tree, far away to the Czech Republic and Ho Chi Minh City ( Saigon Psych Fest ). Our current label of Kozmik Artifactz is based in Hamburg Germany and will be releasing our fifth LP ‘Zzyzx’ on vinyl ((to the world)) in Spring of 2020.
“On the whole, ‘Zzyzx’ delivers a chill, groovy vibe, ideal for lazy, hazy, late-night contemplation and relaxation. Songs like “Ghost Babe” and “The Heat” are short, sweet and upbeat, while “Neo Spiritual” and “Spaced Out Mind” wanders for longer in a pool and riffle sequence. -Reve Hansen”
